Spring Tryouts
Tryouts for the 2022 high school baseball season begin Feb. 28th at Anhorn Field beginning at 4:00. For more information contact Coach Campbell at Scenic (jay.campbell@district6.org) or Coach Powell at Crater (jim.powell@district6.org). Stop by the athletic department for eligibility requirements.
The season schedule can be found on the OSAA site here. The first game (Spring Jamboree) is scheduled for March 14th, and the varsity season is set to run through June 4th.

Kindreich Drafted by Texas Rangers
Congrats to Crater alum Larson Kindreich, who was drafted in the 8th round of the 2021 MLB draft by the Texas Rangers. You can read Larson’s draft prospect analysis here. Larson officially just completed his sophomore season at Biola (though due to Covid, it was actually his third). You can check out his Biola page here. Crater Grad Ryan Gipson
The great thing about baseball, according to Ryan Gipson, is that if you work hard enough and carry a passion for the sport, opportunities will undeniably come your way.
It was that way during his decorated playing career, and it’s been the same as he continues a second career in baseball as a coach.
A state champion at Crater High School in 2000 and national champion at Oregon State University in 2006, Gipson took a big step in his coaching career this summer when he was promoted to a full-time assistant role with the Beavers . . . continue reading on The Mail Tribune.
