Spring Season Dates
Middle School Baseball tryouts are at 1:00 on February 23rd at Anhorn Field. For more information contact Coach Campbell at jay.campbell@district6.org.
High school preseason workouts are underway. Pitchers and catchers are working Mondays and Wednesdays at Scenic Middle School from 6 to 7:15 p.m.. Fielders are meeting on the Crater football field from 4 to 5:15 on Tuesdays for defensive work, and hitters are meeting in the cages from 4-5:15 on Thursdays. Hot Start for Larson Kindreich
Crater alum Larson Kindreich is off to a hot start for Biola University. He fanned twelve batters in his first outing of the season, leading Biola to a 4-2 victory. Playoff Schedule
Crater plays at Silverton on Wednesday the 22nd in the first round of the 5A State Playoffs. Silverton finished 4th in the Mid-Willamette League behind Central, Crescent Valley, and West Albany, but they’re ranked 5th in the state overall. Crater, meanwhile, won seven of its final ten after returning from the Fresno Tournament. The winner moves on to the quarter finals on Friday against the Putnam/Thurston winner. Pearce Wins First Career Start for Beavers
Crater grad Dylan Pearce earned a win during his first career start for the 12th-ranked Oregon State Beavers baseball team. You can check out the recap here. Pearce gave up seven hits and five runs over five innings against Oregon. He’s 3-2 on the season with a 2.61 ERA and 2 saves. Hum Babe, Dylan!
Crater Spring Break Tourney
Crater and Grants Pass co-host the annual Spring Break Tourney beginning Tuesday, March 26th. Ridgeview, Scappoose, Wilson, and West Salem are this year’s participants.

2019 Baseball Tryouts
The Crater Baseball middle school program will have a parent meeting on February 13th at 7 p.m. in the Scenic MS Library. Tryouts will take place at 1:00 pm at Anhorn Field on February 24th.
High school baseball begins Monday, February 25th. Interested candidates should contact Coach Campbell at Scenic, or check-in with Coach Powell at the Crater School of Business. Students wishing to play need to have completed all paperwork and have completed a sports physical. Contact the Athletic Department for details. Crater has three teams: a Varsity, a Junior Varsity, and a Freshmen team.
